Our History

Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory was founded in 2018. Our goal was to provide dignified burial and cremation options with sensible pricing. Our promise is to provide a meaningful service and tribute, strive for excellence in all that we do, and take exceptional care of each family we serve starting from the time you walk through our doors.

Cypress Funeral Home offers a well apportioned chapel that can be configured to meet the needs of each family; as well a spacious coffee and refreshment area for use during services. Our on-site crematory ensures that your loved one is with us as you plan and celebrate your loved one's life. We are here to assist you with your preplanning, funeral, memorials, and crematory services.

  • Nicholaus  Barber

    Nicholaus Barber Owner - Funeral Director & Embalmer

    Nick is a native of Lafayette and a lifelong resident of Vermilion Parish. He is a 1997 graduate of Lafayette High School and a 2004 graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas where he earned a degree in Mortuary Science with honors and distinction. He passed the National Funeral Service Board Exam in May of 2004 and was licensed to practice in January, 2005.Nick serves on various non-profit boards, and is a member of the Vermilion Parish Chamber of Commerce. He resides in Maurice with his two duaghters, Madison and Mia Barber. They are congregants of Temple Shalom Jewish Synagogue in Lafayette. Nick is also a State Wide Commissioned Notary Public for the State of Louisiana, and has a Bachelors Degree in Legal Studies. Nick has spent his entire career working for both family owned funeral homes, as well as large corporate owned funeral homes. Over the years he has worked in every facet of the funeral industry, from funeral homes, cemeteries and crematories. He is a licensed embalmer and funeral director in both Louisiana and Texas. He sincerely believes that every person deserves a dignified and respectful funeral service, at a price that makes sense for everday working familes. His attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond for the familes he serves makes him a valuable asset in his local community.

  • Zoey Lindsey

    Zoey Lindsey Licensed Funeral Director

    Zoey is a native of Lafayette and a resident of Vermilion Parish. She is a 2017 graduate of Ovey Comeaux High School and a 2020 graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas where she earned a degree in Mortuary Science. She passed the National Funeral Service Board Exam in 2022 and received her license to practice. In 2022, Zoey also received her Crematory Operators License and began proudly serving the families of Vermilion Parish.After the loss of her sister in 2016, Zoey found her calling in the funeral industry. She vowed to give every family she served the same care and respect that she and her family were given in their time of need. Zoey has a place in her heart for every family she serves and always goes above and beyond to ensure they receive the best quality of service.

  • Stanley

    Stanley "Stan" Levier Certified Crematory Operator

    Stanley is a native of St. Landry Parish and a resident of Lafayette Parish. He is a faithful and loyal employee of Cypress Funeral Home where he serves as the Crematory Manager. Stanley works hard to make sure our crematory and facilities are beautiful and well-maintained so that every family feels comfortable and well served. Stanley serves as a Deacon in his Church - St. Mary Baptist Church in Port Barre. He is the proud father of 4 children, and 2 precious grandchildren. His work ethic, kindness and faith in God are just a few of the reasons we are so blessed to have him as part of the Cypress Family.

  • Nicholas LeBlanc

    Nicholas LeBlanc Certified Crematory Operator

    Nicholas LeBlanc is a senior at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and will graduate in December of 2024 with a degree in Music Business. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and the ULL Men's Chorale. Nicholas has been on the President's List for the past four semesters. Nicholas comes from a close-knit family, is the youngest of four, and resides in Abbeville. In addition to his role as a Licensed Crematory Operator for Cypress Funeral Home, Nicholas serves as a cantor and choir member at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He has been involved in community theater since the age of 9. After providing music for funerals as a way to help with loss, Nicholas decided to pursue a career in the funeral business in order to continue offering comfort to families who are mourning. Nicholas believes all life is sacred and hopes that his work will always demonstrate honor and respect.
