Nicholaus Barber Owner - Funeral Director & Embalmer
Nick is a native of Maurice and a lifelong resident of Vermilion Parish. He is a 1997 graduate of Lafayette High School and a 2004 graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas where he earned a degree in Mortuary Science with honors and distinction. He passed the National Funeral Service Board Exam in May of 2004 and was licensed to practice in January, 2005.
Nick serves on various non-profit boards, and is a member of the Vermilion Parish Chamber of Commerce. He resides in Maurice with his spouse Trinh and their four children, Madison, Mia, JiJi, and Kai. Nick is also a State Wide Commissioned Notary Public for the State of Louisiana, and has a Bachelors Degree in Legal Studies. Nick has spent his entire career working for both family owned funeral homes, as well as large corporate owned funeral homes. Over the years he has worked in every facet of the funeral industry, from funeral homes, cemeteries and crematories. He is a licensed embalmer and funeral director in both Louisiana and Texas. He sincerely believes that every person deserves a dignified and respectful funeral service, at a price that makes sense for everyday working families. His attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond for the families he serves makes him a valuable asset in his local community. -
Claire Meche Licensed Funeral Director
Claire is a native of Rayne and a resident of Indian Bayou, where she lives with her husband and child. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 2015 and graduated with an associate’s degree in Business Administration from SLCC in 2018. Claire is a Louisiana Licensed Funeral Director.
Claire comes from a family of six; she is the middle child of 3 brothers. She grew up in an environment where community service was a cornerstone. Claire watched her family dedicate their time to volunteering and helping people at church, in the fire department, at schools and daycares, and in the nursing home. She holds an interest in psychology and is perpetually striving to improve herself, and by extension, those around her. She feels as though she has found her calling working at Cypress. She has made it her goal to put the emphasis on the “Home” part of Cypress Funeral Home, and hopes she can provide comfort and support to those navigating one of the most difficult times in their lives. -
Vincent Hebert Funeral Director & Embalmer
Vincent "Vince" John Hebert is a native of Milton, Louisiana and a graduate of Comeaux Highschool. After high school Vince went on to attend Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, earning a degree in Mortuary Science. He is Licensed in the State of Louisiana as a Funeral Director & Embalmer. Vince embodies the true value of service to others.
Vince spent years working in St. Mary Parish serving the families of Franklin and Patterson before returning home to work in the family business. He resides in Milton with his spouse and two children. Growing up in a tight-knit Cajun family Vince understands the meaning of tradition and culture here in Acadiana. Vince is active in his Catholic Faith and finds comfort in helping others create meaningful tributes to honor their loved ones. His motto is “compassion is understanding the troubles of others.” -
Trinh Do Office Administrator
Trinh is from Binh Thuan, Vietnam, and currently resides in Maurice with her husband and children. She earned her degrees in Business Finance and English Linguistics and Literature from Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in Saigon Vietnam. Growing up in her parents' bookstore in Vietnam, Trinh acquired the principles of dedication and hard work from a very early age. As the youngest child in a family of three, she exemplifies the strong family-oriented culture of the Vietnamese people.
Trinh's kind and gentle spirit makes her an invaluable asset to Cypress Funeral Home. In her capacity as office administrator, she manages the daily operations of our office, ensuring it runs smoothly while assisting the families we serve. Trinh regularly attends the Tinh Do Buddhist Temple with her children and is always willing to help and support those in need. -
Stanley Levier Certified Crematory Operator
Stanley is a native of St. Landry Parish and a resident of Maurice, Louisiana. He is a faithful and loyal employee of Cypress Funeral Home where he serves as the Crematory Manager. Stanley works hard to make sure our crematory and facilities are beautiful and well-maintained so that every family feels comfortable and well served.
Stanley serves as a Deacon in his Church - St. Mary Baptist Church in Port Barre. He is the proud father of 4 children, and 2 precious grandchildren. His work ethic, kindness and faith in God are just a few of the reasons we are so blessed to have him as part of the Cypress Family.
