Wendy Marie Venable

Lafayette- Ms. Wendy Marie Venable, age 67, died peacefully at The Carpenter House Friday October 16th, 2020. There will not be a wake or viewing as per her request. Ms. Wendy was a native of Duson and a longtime resident of Crowley, Louisiana. She worked at the Acadiana Mall as a custodian for over 10 years; having to stop working due to ongoing health issues. She was known as a woman who danced to the beat of her own drum. She was kind, compassionate and always willing to help someone in need. She would make friends everywhere she would go. She loved and adored her family, children and especially her grandchildren. One of her favorite past times was watching Disney Movies and cartoons with her grandchildren. She was a huge animal lover of all kinds. She also loved music, collecting unicorns and Native American memorabilia. She also had a soft spot for the elderly and children. Ms. Wendy’s deep raspy voice, laugh, and colorful stories will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved Wendy. She is survived by two sisters: Kathleen Breaux of Duson, Linda Bourque and husband Robert of Duson; one brother: Tony Venable and wife Anita of Duson; three sons: Jason Bourque and wife Tabby of Duson, Joey Bourque and wife Angela of Maurice, and David Bourque and wife Ashley of Branch; two daughters: Jerri Averette and husband Clovis of Crowley and Donielle Bourque of Scott; twelve grandchildren: Dayla Averette, CJ Averette, Anna Bourque, Alexander Bourque, Archer Bourque, Michael Bourque, Mayah Moore, Kiyah Moore, Shylah Moore, Cheyenne Bourque, Avery Bourque and Kayson Bourque; five nieces Dayna Boutte, Traci Bourliea, Angel Breaux-Ryder, Shelly Breaux-Douet and Kadie Venable-Smith; two nephews: Robby Bourque and Chuck Anthony Venable; her Godson Scotty Arceneaux of Erath, sixteen great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Bourque; her long time companion Lionel Fusilier, her Goddaughter Kelly Breaux, her brother-in-law Percy Breaux, and her parents, Geston Venable and Dottie Belle Venable.
