Timothy "Tim" Benoit

Maurice - A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Timothy “Tim” Benoit, age 56, who passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Deacon Keith Duhon of Milton will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 10:00 am until service time at Cypress Funeral Home. Tim was born on July 23, 1968, in Morgan City, Louisiana, and he was a long-time resident of Maurice. He worked in the radio and television advertising business for over 30 years. Tim was a fierce debater, always willing to debate on any topic at any time. He enjoyed attending concerts and listening to music. Tim always took pride in his yard, and enjoyed working outside. He was an animal lover; he leaves behind his 4 adorable rabbits, with whom he had a love/hate relationship. He was an avid football watcher and loved all things LSU; he was the first to tell you he bled purple and gold. More than anything, Tim was a loving father who adored his children more than anything. He recently became a grandfather and looked forward to taking his newborn grandson to his first LSU game and making memories with him. Tim will be dearly missed. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Alana Absher Benoit of Maurice; his daughters, Lauren McKinzie (Tyler) of Mississippi, and Alyssa “Bozo” Benoit of Berwick; his bonus children, Jeanne Roy (Jordan) of Lafayette, Ashlyn Rice (Lee) of Lafayette, and Jacob Rice of Lafayette; his grandson, River McKinzie; his siblings, Lisa Absher (Kevin) of Albany, and Thomas Gregory Benoit (Leslie) of Arkansas; his godchild, Sarah Rick (Matthew) of Tickfaw, along with their two children, Samuel and Amelia; his niece, Katelyn Benoit of Slidell; as well as his nephew, Thomas Absher and daughter Nataleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Evelyn Benoit; as well as his fathers-in-law, Eddie Absher and Kennon Beadle. The Benoit family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to Safi Haq MD., Frank Courmier MD., his ICU nurses Zach and Jara, along with the rest of the ICU staff at Our Lady of Lourdes for the care and compassion they offered Tim and his family during their time of need.
