Theresa "Terrie" Olson

Lafayette - Theresa “Terrie” Olson, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024, in Lafayette. Theresa “Terrie” Olson was born on January 3, 1947, in Valdosta, Georgia and she was a resident of Cold Springs, Minnesota. She grew up in a military family and her father was a Sergeant in the Air Force. Terrie lived in Germany and that is where she had met and married her husband, Jerry Olson who was also in the air force. She worked in the hotel industry in Louisiana until she retired. In her younger days, Terrie was a competitive pool player and competed in pool tournaments in Las Vegas. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and working on her diamond art. Terrie also loved her collection of Betty Boop. Most importantly, her favorite things in life were her family. Terrie had a way with carrying a conversation and her sarcasm and banter were unmatched. She could always be good for a laugh when you needed one. Terri had an infectious personality and everyone who had the honor of meeting her loved her. "Her favorite people called her GiGi". Terrie will be dearly missed. Theresa is survived by her children, Connie Olson (Dave) of Richmond, MN and Alysia Hauner (Tom) of Rush City, MN; her grandchildren, Stephanie Ehrreich (Josh), Frank Hauner (Bethany), Michael Hauner (Molly), and Chelsea Hauner; her step-grandchildren, Brianna Thielen (Chase) and Christina VanVickle (Justin); her great-grandchildren, Zoey and Shay Wilcox, Frankie and Beau Hauner, Evalyn Hauner, Huntleigh and Reelynn Vanvickle, Saige,Colt, and Evelynn Spindler; her sister, Mary Castille of Lafayette, LA; her Godchild, Coliin Picard; her nieces, Aleena Plaisance (Wyatt), Samantha Stansbury, and Veronica Stansbury; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the ICU care team at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette for putting forth their best efforts to provide support and care for Theresa “Terrie” Olson and her family during their time of need.
