Sally Ann Gaudin

Saint Martinville - Sally, a dedicated and intelligent medical professional and a servant of and for God, passed away to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Throughout her life, Sally endured tremendous trials and pain, yet she navigated every valley as best as she could. Her life served as a living testament to "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). A fierce defender of her family, especially her children, Sally worked to provide her children with opportunities she never had herself. Her trials and life provided a light that guided her children and grandchildren toward God as the only true path to peace. Because of this example, her family remains fixated on Him, even in times of sorrow. We find strength in knowing she is finally at peace, reunited with her beloved mother and best friend, Lunez. She no longer walks through the shadows, for she is in God’s eternal embrace, resting where she truly belongs. As it is written: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4). Sally is survived by her brother, Jody Derouen; her sister, Ula Broussard; her son, Corey Gaudin and daughter-in-law Carrie Rose Gaudin; and her daughter, Ariane Gaudin Bienvenu and son-in-law Joshua Hunter Bienvenu. She leaves behind a legacy of faith in her grandchildren: Amalie Gaudin, Sydney Gaudin, Elijah Gaudin, Isla Bienvenu, and Raymond Bienvenu III. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lunez Knott, and her grandfather, Oleus Olivier. A funeral service to celebrate Sally’s life and faith will be held on February 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana. Burial will be around 11:30 AM (Square 3, row 3, plot 8). As we gather to remember her life, we hold onto the promise that "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matthew 5:4).
