Lafayette - Robert "Bob" Douglas Greene A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert “Bob” Greene will be held on Friday, December 20 at 11:00 AM at The Bayou Church in Lafayette. Visitation with the family will be observed from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Bayou Church. Bob, 67, passed away on Monday, December 9 at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital in Lafayette with his wife by his side. Pastor Sean Walker of Lafayette will officiate. Bob was born on October 12, 1957, in Shreveport, LA. He graduated from Acadiana High School and then attended Louisiana State University (LSU). Bob and his wife, Candace, enjoyed over three decades of marriage, building their life together in Lafayette, LA. Their home was always filled with love, laughter, and sports equipment from their beautiful children in their blended family. Bob was passionate about his work and had a lifelong career as a Mud Engineer with Baker Hughes. In his spare time, he enjoyed clay shooting, fishing, and golfing with friends. Bob loved football, and he was a diehard LSU fan. He also enjoyed cheering on the Ragin Cajuns, New Orleans Saints, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He cherished time with his grandchildren and could always be found sneaking them treats when their parents weren’t watching. Bob is survived by his wife, Candace Cross Greene, of Lafayette; his children, Jeffrey Greene of Lafayette, Robert Greene of Lafayette, Brad Hardy and his wife, Anna, of Conroe, TX, Blake Hardy of Lafayette, Meagan Hannen and her husband, Scott, of Lafayette, Shelley Greene and Sarah Greene of Lafayette. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Grady and Avery Greene, Gavin, Kate, Sofia and Landon Hardy, William, Elliot and Clara Hannen, and Julian and Hannah Greene. He is also survived by a sister, Doris Herrmann and her husband, John, of League City, TX, and brother-in-law Charlie Cross and his wife, Marti, of Wild Rose, WI, along with numerous nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Patsy Greene; his brother, Kenneth Greene; and his in-laws, Charles and Jo Ellen Cross. The family wishes to thank the team at Heart Hospital of Lafayette for the care given to Bob in his final days, with a special acknowledgement to Tim, Jada and Emily.
