Mildred "Millie" Boudreax

Kaplan - A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Mildred "Millie" Boudreaux, age 87, who passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 in Gueydan. Deacon Josh LeBlanc will officiate the services. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 9:00 AM until service time at Cypress Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kaplan. Millie was born on March 25, 1939 in Kaplan, where she was a longtime resident. Known by many as a social butterfly, she loved to talk, hang out with her friends, and enjoyed her time working at Hilton and getting to chat with people from all over. Millie especially loved being able to speak to people in French whenever the opportunity arose. To many, she was the life of a party and would quickly befriend anyone she met. She was quite fond of her plants and flowers and would keep an eye out for any gardens or well decorated yards. Sometimes she couldn’t help herself and just had to stop by an exquisitely decorated yard to tell the owner what a good job they’ve done. Christmas time was especially joyful for her - from decorating to preparing a tasty meal, she enjoyed every bit of jubilance brought on by the holiday. It also gave Millie an excellent excuse to go shopping and to get cooking, both of which she loved to do. Most importantly, she enjoyed the togetherness that it brought on. Family time was very important to Millie, and she treasured every moment she was able to spend with her loved ones. She will be greatly missed by them. Millie is survived by her children, Craig Boudreaux (Kathy), Lisa Bourque (Leonard), Brent Boudreaux (Susie), and Rachel Robichaux (Chad); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Boudreaux, Meredith Lavigne, Clint Boudreaux, Tyler Boudreaux, Garrett Boudreaux, Joshua Bourque, Kyle Bourque, Blake Boudreaux, and Victoria Robichaux; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, John Easton Boudreaux; her grandchildren, Douglas Bourque and Danny Brown; her parents, Sadie Dupuis Orran and Sidney Harrington; as well as her two sisters, Thelma Grimmer and Marion Meaux. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Tyler Boudreaux, Garrett Boudreaux, Joshua Bourque, Kyle Bourque, Blake Boudreaux, and Clint Boudreaux. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at LAMM Hospice and Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for the care and compassion they offered to Millie and her family in their time of need.
