Lafayette - A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Kelly Lynn Williber, age 39, who passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in Lafayette. The Very Reverend Chester Arceneaux will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass, with Reverend Andrew Schumacher concelebrating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 10:00 am until 12:15 pm at the Spirit Life Center of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 12:15 pm in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Kelly Lynn Williber born the 20th of October 1983 in Opelousas. Long time resident of Lafayette where she attended Lafayette High School and later graduated in 2006. She faced many battles at a young age and prevailed with the help of St. Jude's Children Hospital and prayers. Kelly's faith in Jesus is strong. Throughout it all she displayed perseverance and courage. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Kelly. Kelly never met a stranger, her laugh was contagious and her smile was unforgettable. She loved ice cream, cookies and anything dipped in chocolate. Most of all kelly loved her family, friends and boat rides. She graced us with her playfulness and positive attitude daily. Although we mourn her loss we would like our family and friends to remember Kelly's journey and live each day to your fullest. Kelly is survived by her father, Mark Williber (Brenda) of Estherwood; her mother, Loretta Faye Williber (Joe Cole); her siblings, Rachel Clark (Dustin) of Lafayette, Adam Williber (Katelyn) of Lafayette, DJ Cole (Jennie), Tracy Romero (Andre), Jeremy Mouton (Brittney), Daniel Mouton (Amy), and Chase Mouton (Catherine); her grandfathers, Morris Williber, and Alwood Brignac; her nieces and nephews, Evan Clark, Olivia Thomas, Evelyn Williber, Paisley Cole, Dylan Cole, Jayden Romero, Grayson Romero, Kullen Mouton, Kade Mouton, kennison Mouton, Kerrigan Mouton, Landon Mouton, Falin Mouton, and Mason Mouton; along with a host of extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Joyce Brignac; maternal grandfather, Hersey Courville; maternal grandmother, Lena Mae Veillon Courville; and her grandmother, Llelma Courville. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Heart of Hospice for the care and compassion they offered Kelly and her family during her time of need.
