Judy Anne Plowden

Lafayette – Judy Anne Plowden, age 74, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on Friday, February 13, 2026 in Lafayette. Judy was born on October 12, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a resident of Lafayette. Judy was a woman known for her warm heart and unwavering love for her family. She lived a life rooted in compassion, touching the lives of everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. Judy was dedicated and hardworking, but nothing meant more to her than her family. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She had a passion for traveling and sports. Over the years, her travels brought her to Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard, Niagara Falls, Cancun, New York City, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Cozumel, Jamaica, and Belize. Her favorite destination by far was the Dominican Republic. She found joy in the simple things – family gatherings, holidays, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her wisdom, strength, and nurturing presence will be deeply missed. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Judy’s love and legacy will live on in all of us. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the beautiful light she brought into this world. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Johnny Earl Plowden; her children, Jon T. Plowden, Michael S. Plowden and his wife Tori, and Shanette A. Plowden; her grandchildren Blake P. Herring, Jonte J. Plowden, Halle Y. Plowden, Alexis J. Plowden, Joh T. Plowden Jr., Breahni M. Plowden, Jolie M. Plowden, Ty L. Plowden, Shandon D. Plowden, Shea M. Plowden, and Jai A. Plowden; her five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her loving grandchildren, Jordyn A. Plowden and Michael S. Plowden Jr. who was affectionately known as “Buddy.” Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Hospice for the amazing care that she received in her time of need. The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W. Lafayette St., Maurice, LA 70555.
