Broussard - A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 10:30 am at Trinity Anglican Church in Lafayette for Judy P. McBride, age 80, who passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in Broussard. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 10:00 am until service time at Trinity Anglican Church in Lafayette. Internment will take place in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Broussard. Judy P. McBride was born on November 1, 1942, in Birmingham, Alabama. Judy attended the University of Alabama and proudly cheered “roll tide”. Judy moved to Louisiana and married Pat. Pat’s career relocated them from Louisiana to California and finally moving back to Broussard in 2016. She worked as an office manager, administrator, and campaign manager. Judy never missed an excuse to buy a new pair of work shoes or a classy outfit; some nieces referred to her as “aunt shoesie”. As a court appointed advocate for CASA and an officer of PEO, Judy had a passion for helping others and finding ways to better the lives of those around her. She was also a member of the Southern Belles of Peachtree City, Georgia and actively participated in many similar groups and organizations throughout her lifetime. For many years, Judy’s favorite past time included golfing, family ski trips, traveling, and sewing. She later discovered a love for Beau Rivage and casinos of any kind. Judy was undeniably competitive when playing card games, detailed and meticulous in gift wrapping, and always available if someone needed a listening ear. She was a friend to all, known for being an avid bridge player and a welcoming hostess. Judy loved entertaining, cooking, playing games, and hosting gatherings in her home (especially her grandchildren). She had a smile that could light up a room and the warmest hugs. Judy was truly gifted at making people feel special and she will be dearly missed. Judy P. McBride is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Patrick “Pat” McBride; her children, Beryl McBride Dore’ (Butch) and Scott McBride (Leslie); her step-daughter, Stacey McBride Reaux; her grandchildren, Lexi Hayob, Lindsey Hayob, Ryder McBride, Keely McBride, and Hailey Reaux Fontenot; her four great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Pam Daniels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Jeanette Pope; as well as her brother, Charles “Eddie” Edward Pope, Jr. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the care provided by Dr. Jason Landry and the entire Audubon Hospice team.
