Scott - A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Jonathan A. Broussard, Jr., age 33, who passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 2:00 pm until service time at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice. Jonathan A. Broussard, Jr. was born on September 9, 1990, in Lafayette and he was a lifelong resident of Acadiana. He loved to listen to music, play video games, be outside, repeatedly watching Fast and Furious movies, playing sports with Noah and Luke, and working with cars. Jonathan also loved to bowl, be around animals, and be with his family. He was always very friendly to everyone and wouldn't hesitate if someone needed help. Jonathan was a very determined and strong-willed person. Even though some people didn't think he'd be able to make it past the first few days, he did. Jonathan went through two more surgeries before he was even an adult. He fought so hard to relearn things and get strong again when he had both surgeries. No matter how frustrated he might get with someone, he wouldn't let someone talk negatively about the person that the frustration was with. The first thing that comes to mind when I close my eyes and think about Jonathan is his smile and laughter. He would want people to know that he tried his best to help other people and make them laugh. That he was stronger than he seemed and that he was not ever someone to be underestimated. “Don't be sad and cry because I'm gone. Be happy that I don't have the limitations that came with my body, and can now do everything that I couldn't do before.” Jonathan will be dearly missed. Jonathan is survived by his father, Jonathan Broussard, Sr.; his mother Donna Touchet; his step-father, Chad Touchet; his siblings, Christina Broussard, Dave Hackney, Noah Holman, and Aimie Holman; his grandmother, Liz Valdetero; his uncle, Ronald Stelly and his wife, Cindy; his aunt, Peggy Stelly and her fiancé, Brian Gannard; his aunt, Arlene Stelly and her husband, Michael; his uncle, Mike Holman; his aunt, Dana Holman; along with a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley Stelly, Willie Bill Stelly, Sr., Alice Touchet, Lennis Touchet, Sr., Henry Trahan, Dorothy Broussard, and Clifford Broussard; his uncles, Grosse Tete and Willie Stelly, Jr.; as well as his cousin, Jennifer Stelly.
