Woodlawn - Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Johnny James Carroll, age 90, who passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 27, 2024, in the Woodlawn area. Pastor Matt Palmer of First Baptist Church of Milton will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 9:00 am until service time at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Maurice. Johnny James Carroll was born on March 1, 1934, in Glenmora and he was a longtime resident of the Woodlawn area. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, freshwater fishing, fish frying, and training horses and hunting dogs. He cherished all things Cajun Culture, especially the delicious food and French music. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Audrey Landry Carroll; his daughter, Jacquelyn Carroll LeBlanc (Shelby) of Erath; his son-in-law, John Boudreaux; his grandchildren, James LeBlanc (Celina) of the Woodlawn area, Shelli White (Garrett) of Abbeville, and Brye Romero (Jason) of Erath; his great-grandchildren, Annie LeBlanc and her mother, Mandy, Weston White, Radley White, Preslee Romero, and Bryer Romero; his siblings, Ila Dunn of Glenmora and Floyd Carroll of Glenmora; as well as his sister-in-law, Frances Landry of the Woodlawn area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Carroll and Bertha Kennedy Carroll; his daughter, Alyssa Boudreaux; as well as his brothers, L.E. Carroll and Ray Carroll. Pallbearers will be Shelby LeBlanc, John Boudreaux, James LeBlanc, Garrett White, Jason Romero, and Robert Dunn. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hope Hospice; as well as Aunt Frankie Landry, James LeBlanc, and Celina LeBlanc for the care and compassion they offered Johhny and his family during their time of need.
