Lafayette - A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 3:00 PM in Northgate Church of Christ in Lafayette for James R. Livingston, age 71, who passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Rev. Stephen R. Livingston will conduct the service. James Russell Livingston was born on June 16, 1950 in Blaine, Mississippi and he was a resident of Lafayette for over 40 years. He worked offshore in the Oil and Gas industry for many years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. James will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A special message from his daughter: Things are not how a daughter would ever want for her father however I know this is God's plan and I have had a wonderful relationship with a great man for 41 years. Dad please continue to protect us all. I'm so happy you will never have to deal with pain again, you are 100% cancer free! You can see with no cataracts, you can hear with no hearing aids! You are home. To mom & I you are just taking a long hitch offshore again. James is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly V. Livingston; his daughter, Jan R. Livingston (Blaine Cox) of Duson; his grandson, Noah Lee James Cox; his siblings, William E. Livingston Jr. (Effie), Betty Jean Finotti (Tony), Shelly L. Livingston, Barbara Garrard (Charles), Dwight Livingston (Kathy), Tom Livingston (Pat), Stephen Livingston (Joyce), Mark Livingston (Lenora), Larry Livingston (Wanda), Vicky Henry (Shawn), Jeff Livingston, and Danny Livingston (Kim). He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Livingston, Sr. and Mary McCain Livingston; and his siblings, David Livingston, Mary Ellen McClough, and Harold Livingston. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Nurses, Doctors and Staff at Our Lady of Lourdes, 7th Floor ICU for the care and compassion they offered James during his time of need; as well as Jennifer Mouton his amazing nurse in the ICU, and also his Boss Mark James from AIS, for his help and support during this difficult time.
