Arthur Gale Lormand

Abbeville - A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Our Saviors Church in Abbeville from at 6:00 PM for Arthur Gale Lormand, age 78, who passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 in Abbeville. Pastor Ryan Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 4:00 PM until the time of service at Our Saviors Church in Abbeville. Arthur grew up in the small town of Meaux, Louisiana. Working the rice and cotton fields, he learned hard work at a very young age. He ran track at Abbeville High School, where he set several records and loved music. Arthur was in a band where, one night playing at a Christmas party, ended up meeting the love of his life, Beverly, of 59 years. They went on to have 4 beautiful kids where he worked in the oilfield as a tool pusher for the most of his career to provide. Arthur was a man of faith who walked as an example daily to his friends and family. He loved cook and to fish and crab with his kids and grandchildren, and in the more recent years, held a soft spot for his great grandbabies, to which he referred to as his "sweeties". His presence, love, and guidance will be sincerely missed to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Arthur is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Beverly Ellen Lormand; his children, Kenny Lormand of Abbeville, Laurie Frederick (Jude) of Abbeville, Kristin Lormand (Angel) of Abbeville, and Amanda Lormand of Abbeville; his grandchildren, Jordan LeBlanc, Austin Frederick, Kylie Roche, Kaden Thomas, Sayge Lormand, Emma Lormand, and Karson Serrano; his great-grandchildren, Jena LeBlanc, Hayden LeBlanc, Blair LeBlanc, Oakley LeBlanc, Luke Frederick, and Emory Lormand; as well as his siblings, Marilyn Lormand Hargrave and Martha DuBois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Lormand and Bernice Suire; as well as his brother, Eugene Lormand. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at Abbeville General Hospital for the care and compassion they offered Arthur in his time of need.
