William "Wild Bill" Kartchner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Krotz Springs - William “Wild Bill” Kartchner, 77, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, in Krotz Springs, Louisiana. William Kartchner was born on June 23, 1944, in Opelousas and was a resident of Krotz Springs, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Melville Highschool and went on to serve his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. After returning home, he began a career working in the welding and fabrication business. In his spare time, Bill rode motorcycles, Harley-Davidsons to be exact. His Harley was not only a hobby, it was a lifestyle and a passion. Thru the years "Wild Bill" as he was known amongst his friends, was able to ride his Harley all across the United States attending various bike rallies and Harley Davidson events. In his time at home, he enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Wild Bill is survived by his children, Willie Kartchner and his spouse Ginger of Krotz springs, and Billy Kartchner of Baton Rouge; his grandchildren, Logan Kartchner, Madison Kartchner, Abby Kartchner, Landon Kartchner, and Carson Kartchner; his great-grandchildren, Avery, Aubrey, and Colton; as well as his sister, Kitty Barker and her spouse, Boyd of Krotz Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Kartchner and Olita Bryant Kartchner; his sisters, Faye Combs, and Lawanna Marionneaux; and the mother of his children, Maybelle Buxton Kartchner. The Kartchner family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the Nurses, Doctors, and Staff of Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care and support during this most difficult time. A private memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
