Wayne Joseph Hebert

Maurice - A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery in Maurice for Wayne Joseph Hebert, age 67, who passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Deacon Cody Miller will conduct the funeral services. Wayne Joseph Hebert was born on April 1, 1954, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and he was a lifelong resident of Maurice. He worked throughout his life in the water well industry, he was extremely knowledgeable in his field and there was nothing that he couldn't fix on a water well. He enjoyed hunting and cooking. He could spend hours in the kitchen over a pot and he was known to be a great cook. Wayne had a big heart, he loved drinking coffee and making his daily rounds down the road checking on family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Wayne is survived by his children, Amy Hebert, Annette Zerangue (Stephen), and April Ponthieux (Michael), and Annick Hebert; his grandchildren, Dreux, Kallie, Carter, Trinity, Kenlie, Collin, Ezra, and Cora; his great-grandchildren, Autumn, Jaxon, Carleigh, and Delilah; his siblings, Wanda Duhon (Ronnie), Stephanie Villien (Buzzy), Widley Jr. "Jr." Hebert (Cindy), Sharon Byers (Jim), Rachael Hebert, Sammy Hebert (Ann), Phyllis Villien, Leah Mistich (Glenn), Jennifer Jones, and Mandi Gary (James); as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Widley Hebert Sr and Doris Broussard Hebert, and his sisters Yvonne and Baby Hebert; as well as his brother in law, David Villien. The Hebert family wishes to offer a heartfelt Thank You to Amy Hebert; as well as the nurses, doctors, and staff of St. Joseph's Carpenter House for the care and compassion they provided Wayne during his time of need.
