Violet May Thille Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lafayette - A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Violet May Thille, age 74, who passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at her residence in Lafayette, Louisiana. Violet and her husband were married on August 7, 1969 at Fort Walters, Texas. The family moved to Lafayette in 1981. Since her husband worked for PHI on a seven and seven schedule, Violet was the primary influencer of both her boys until they graduated from ULL in the mid-nineties. Violet loved the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing, crabbing and anything else that was outdoors. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at the Bingo Ranch. For a number of years, she immersed herself in ceramics. She did all of the molding, firing, painting and the sales of various holiday themed products. Some of her work can still be seen on display at local shops and stores. In addition to being an outstanding wife and mother, Violet was also free and giving of her time. She was never to busy to help anyone who was in need of a helping hand. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Violet is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Charles Michael Thille; her children, David Thille (Amanda) of Ville Platte, and Chris Thille (Nicole) of Texas; her eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as her brother, Jr. Johnson of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton Johnson and Ruth Bossom Johnson; and her brother Earl Johnson.
