Lafayette- 1 Corinthians 13:4 ~ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. These words which describe love, also describe Verna Marie LeBlanc LeJeune. She was born October 1st, 1923 in Lockport, LA and passed away in Lafayette on September 24th, 2020 at the age of ninety-six. She was patient, she was kind, she did not envy, she did not boast. She was a proud resident of Lafayette for the past sixty-three years where she resided with her husband, Hugh LeJeune. They were married for thirty-nine years. She was a life-long gardener and carried on that tradition at Rosewood Assisted Living where she was always commended for her beautiful plants on her porch. She was an avid reader and she always loved to engage in spirited conversation. She was an expert in crossword puzzles and always impressed those around her with her knowledge of words. She was affectionally known as “Muddy” by her grandchildren and loved ones. Most of all, she loved her family and was an example to all of us of a life well-lived. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Thomas LeJeune; Mother, Nola LeBlanc; Father, Arthur LeBlanc; Sister, Virgie Donnez; and Brother, A.J.
