Scott - A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 7:00 PM at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Tommy Joseph Richey, age 67, who passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at his residence in Scott, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Cypress Chapel. Tommy Joseph Richey was born on October 6, 1954 in Scott, Louisiana and he was a life long resident of Lafayette Parish. Tommy spent 28 years in the oilfield and he was highly respected by everyone who worked with him. He prided himself on his work ethic and he stabbed pipe better than men half his age. He was known by many as "Talking Tommy" because there wasn't a person alive that he couldn't start a conversation with. Tommy was into health and fitness his entire life. He was still working out in the gym at 60. He followed a healthy diet and shared everything he could about health and fitness with everyone. Tommy was also a faithful and devoted Christian, he read his bible daily. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Melessia M. Richey; his children, Thomas Joshua Richey, and Joseph Dakota Richey; his grandchildren, Brayden J. Roller, Austin B. Richey, Thomas J. Richey II, and Grayson A. Richey; his siblings, Elizabeth J. Richey, David P. Richey, and Linda A. Richey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther J. Richey and Loucella C.
