Theresa Lynn Barker

June 5, 1967 - January 21, 2022

Krotz Springs - A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 28th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Melville Baptist Church, for Theresa Lynn Barker, who passed away Friday, January 21st, 2022 in Palmetto, Louisiana. Theresa was a proud mother and grandmother. She loved to fish, joke and enjoyed seafood (especially crab legs). There were many rough times in her life, but she showed a strong will to live along with a toughness and resilience in the face of many obstacles along her journey. Her happiest of moments were spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandson. The smile on her face and glow in her eyes while with close family and friends will be remembered by all that were close to her. In her last writings she asked for forgiveness in the hearts of anyone she may have upset of failed. Remember her for the good times. Through the eyes of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on her life was a blessing, and should be celebrated as such. Thanks to all who knew her and loved her. Theresa is survived by her loving children, Derek Evans (Hagan) and Jordana Evans; her grandchildren, Zoey Evans, Sophie Lormand, Camille Evans, Jayde Evans, Emmett Evans, Kali Evans; her great grandchild, Walker Satterly; her siblings, Rachel Fontenot (Chuck), Billy Edwards (Johnny Edwards), Crystal Barker and Jennifer Billeaudeaux; as well as, her Godchild, Toby Fontenot, and a host of other nieces and nephews; her cousins JoAnn Canetella and Penny Toledo.; and uncle, Do Barker and aunt, Suzie Barker who were like her second mom and dad. Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Barbara Barker; her paternal grandparents, G.T. and Josephine Barker; her maternal grandparents, James and Hazel Lovette; and her cousin, Christopher Barker. In lieu of flowers, Theresa requested a balloon release at her grave site. A special thanks to Denise Kimball and Kitty Hooks who were her close friends and were there for her the whole time to help with her family’s grieving. The family would like to notify all who plan to attend the service that there will be a gathering at Theresa’s son Derek’s residence for food and an extended celebration of Theresa’s life.
