New Iberia A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 5:00 pm at New Iberia City Park in New Iberia, LA for Stella Ruth Hutchinson Bernard, age 69, who passed away peacefully at her residence on June 22, 2022, in New Iberia, LA. Stella Ruth Hutchinson Bernard was born on July 22, 1952, in Hobbs, NM and she was a longtime resident of Iberia Parish. She was a beautiful, amazing person with a great laugh and a heart of gold. Stella was creative, smart, athletic, and her first love was Superman. She was a skilled artist who enjoyed music, reading, camping, and fishing. She had a generous, free spirit, and cared for others. Stella loved her children very much and they adored her, believing she was the best mother in the world. She will be dearly missed. Stella is survived by her children, Blair Alison Bernard and John Brent Bernard; her siblings, Margaret Johnson, Daniel Hutchinson, Marcella Tracy, James Hutchinson, Dorothy Langhoff, Gloria Gott; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Patrick Bernard, Jr.; her parents, Popeye and Gladys Hutchinson; and her brother, Paul Hutchinson. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their prayers and support.
