Lafayette - Ruby Ann Leblanc, 72, passed away late in the morning on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Lafayette surrounded by her three boys in her final moments. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Ruby was born on July 22nd 1948 in Houma, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was the daughter of Udley Leblanc and Theresa Simon and the youngest of five children. Ruby lived a simple, hard working, and peaceful life. She worked for the daily advertiser for 13 plus years as a newspaper carrier. She imprinted a strong work ethic and compassion in her kids and grandkids. She was the best mother and grandmother anybody could ask for because of the love she showed and the independence she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She was an avid wrestling fan, so much that she named her second son after the great Shawn “The Heartbreak Kid” Michaels. Her love for Elivs Presley was so great that when she saw Elvis in the movie theater her parents had to drag her out because she did not want to leave. Every time Ruby cooked there was enough food for everybody and then some. She made sure that neither you nor your friends went hungry. Ruby is survived by her three beloved children, James “JD” Foux Jr, Shawn Leblanc(Leah), Brandon Leblanc(Summer); seven wonderful grandchildren, Ronald “RJ” Foux(Julie), Brittney Foux, Landon Fontenot(Abby), Heaven Leblanc, Blake “Sunny” Carillo, Raven Leblanc, Christopher Leblanc; four great grandchildren, Sebastian Thomas, Sullivan “Sully” Thomas, Eliegh Mae Leblanc, Gideon Foux she was preceded in death by her loving mother Theresa Simon, father Udley Leblanc, and her four older brothers.
