Ruby Lee Elliott Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lafayette- A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Broussard, for Ruby Lee Elliott, age 89, who passed away on, Sunday, February 28, 2021 at her residence in Youngsville, Louisiana. Rev. Weldon Moak of First Baptist Church of Broussard will officiate the service. Ruby Lee Elliott was born on October 4, 1931, in Shreveport, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette for over 51 years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord. She served her church by keeping the nursey, and she loved rocking and caring for all of the babies. More than anything Ruby was a wife, a mother and a grandmother. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She will be remembered as a kind hearted, loving and nurturing woman. Ruby will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Ruby is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Phillip Elliot of Youngsville; her children, Marilyn Joyce Elliott of Lafayette, Philip Lee Elliott (Margaret) of Grand Coteau, and Terry Jean Broussard of Florida; her grandchildren, Brian, Catina, Wendy, Jamy, Summer, and Jenna; her 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and her sister Betty Hale of Kilgore, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Ida Sanders; her sister, Ida Meadows and her grandparents. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the members of their church at First Baptist Church of Broussard, for the all of the prayers, love and compassion they showed the them during their deepest time of need. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Ruby to the “Building Fund” for First Baptist Church in Broussard.
