Maurice - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11:30 AM at St. Alphonsus Church in Maurice for Robert Romero, age 84, who passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at his residence in Maurice. Fr. Paul will celebrate the Mass and conduct the funeral service. Visitation will be held at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 8:00 AM until service time. A rosary will be prayed at on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Interment will take place at St. Alphonsus Mausoleum following the Mass. Robert Romero was born on March 28, 1940 in Rayne and he was a life-long resident of Maurice. Robert was the owner of Romero's Appliance Service for 40 years. He was known for having a great sense of humor. When Robert was not working, he enjoyed many different hobbies. Those hobbies included cooking, horseback riding, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Beverly Romero; his children, Christine Jaubert (Kenneth), Belinda Romero, Ramona Lopez (Jack), Mitch Romero (Sarah), Dawn Landry (Shane), Darren Bourgeois (Wendy), and Shannon Miller (Patrick); nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Roudell Phillips, Harold Romero (Gail), Glenn Romero (Jeanette), Johnie Romero (Pat), and Marcella Seaux (George). He was preceded in death by his parents, Oran and Virginia Romero; his siblings, Weldon Romero and Terilla Richard; his grandsons, Brandon Bourgeois and Justin LaBauve; as well as his great-grandson, Brent LaBauve. Pallbearers will be Tyler Primeaux, Kyle Romero, Kelly Romero, Jag Broussard, Deagen Broussard, and Cannan Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Richard and Aaron Romero. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hope Hospice for all the care and compassion they offered Robert and his family in their time of need. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W. Lafayette St., Maurice, LA 70555.
