Lafayette – A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Patricia Snowden, age 80, who passed away peacefully at The Carpenter House on Thursday, August 24, 2023, in Lafayette. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice. Patricia Snowden was born on January 3, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas and she was a longtime resident of Lafayette. She lived a life full of passion. Patricia was a talented hairdresser and the owner of a successful salon and Boutique throughout the 1980's. Not only was she an exceptional hairdresser, she was an inventor; achieving and creating a United States Patent in 1996. Entertaining and cooking was a way Patricia expressed her love, bringing people together with a deep appreciation for her Italian heritage and culinary traditions; as well as creating memories of family gatherings filled with laughter and delicious meals. She treasured her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the source of immeasurable joy and pride for her. Patricia loved to tell jokes and enjoyed being the center of attention, performing at Family Reunions to make others laugh. She definitely lived life on her terms, fighting to stay alive on her deathbed long enough to say goodbye to her loved ones before she passed. Patricia will be dearly missed. Patricia is survived by her children, Yvette Guidry and Adana Bailey; her grandchildren, Jade Belaire, Michael Perry, Matthew Perry, Jacob Perry, Nicole Bourque, Ruston Grady, Chelyan Gracy, and Brennon Grady; her great-grandchildren, Julana Perry, Rhiannon Perry, and Michaela Perry, Dalton Garrison, Ava Prejean, Alyce Prejean, Baya Perry, Opal Perry, Alexa Risinger, and Lylee Veitch; as well as her siblings, Gaynelle Traver and Faith Parham. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Snowden; her parents, John and Vera Gallio; her son, Stephen Perry; as well as her siblings, Wayne Gallio and Carol Barnhart. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph Hospice (Carpenter House), Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Hospice of Acadiana (The Calcutta House). Nurse Elana Prejean for always going above and beyond to help with her medical care, to Kayla Trahan with St Joseph's Hospice Carpenter House, for the care and compassion offered to Patricia Snowden and her family during her time of need; the level of care was exemplary. As well as Nurse Stephanie Claudel along with the staff at the Calcutta House. Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W.
