Lafayette - Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice, LA for Nelton Joseph Miguez, age 54, who passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home. A Wake Service with Rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 12:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home. Nelton Joseph Miguez was born on November 6, 1967, in Kaplan, LA and was a longtime resident of Lafayette Parish. He was an avid sports fan, especially football with his favorite team being the Philadelphia Eagles. Nelton was genuinely a great guy. His most profound attributes were being generous and hardworking. Nelton loved Domino’s Pizza where his work ethic was unmatched as a leader as well as a manager. He was also a Covid-19 survivor. Nelton will be dearly missed by many. Nelton is survived by his mother, Mary Mathiew Miguez of Kaplan; brothers, Whitney Dennis Miguez, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Duson and Andy J. Miguez of Lafayette; niece, Kaitlyn Crain; nephews, Jacob M. Miguez and Gunnar M. Miguez; and his very special and dear friend, Stacey Pugh. He was preceded in death by his father, Whitney Dennis Miguez, Sr. as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.
