Nancy Stewart Bourque

New Iberia- Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at Faith Cathedral in New Iberia for Nancy Stewart Bourque, 62, who passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in New Iberia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 10:30 am at Faith Cathedral in New Iberia and will continue until time of services. Nancy was born on April 1, 1958 in Rochester, New York and was a resident of New Iberia for nearly 40 years. During her career she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Nancy loved her patients like they were her own family. She always went above and beyond for those she cared for. Most of all Nancy was a mom, she cherished the role of being a mother and a grandmother. She dearly loved her grandchildren and the time she spent with them. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved chihuahuas; Stella, Diamond and Jewelz. In her free time, she liked to knit, do word puzzles and color. Nancy was also an avid coffee drinker. She had a thing for cows and angels and she loved to shop, especially at the dollar store. She was a sweet, kind and caring person to anyone and everyone she ever met. She would give you the shirt off her back or her last dollar if you needed it. Nancy will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who never judged those she loved, and always seemed to find the good in those around her. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Ryan Bourque, Shawn Bourque, Joshua Bourque and Janet Bourque; her grandchildren, Aidon Bourque, Carter Bourque, Ava Bourque, and Aubreigh Benjamin; her siblings, Barbara Carrere, Yvonne Hunter, Michael Stewart, Peggy Zambito, Maryland Napieralski, Derry Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Francis Stewart, Elaine Kelly, and Karen Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Augustus Stewart and Janet Knapp Stewart; her grandson, Ethan Jude Dempsey; her brothers, Bill Stewart, Robert Stewart, Richard Stewart and Thomas Stewart; her sisters, Beverly Kelly, Laura Vixon and Phyllis Stewart. A reception for Nancy will be held at 1818 Jefferson Terrace Boulevard, New Iberia, LA. 70560 immediately following the memorial service. All are welcome to attend.
