Lafayette - Michael Shane Guidry, 50, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Michael Shane was born on December 14, 1970 in Lafayette, Louisiana and he was a lifetime resident of Lafayette Parish. He was a graduate of Acadiana Highschool Class of 1988. He worked for many years as a sheet metal contractor and owned and operated “Hub City Sheet Metal”. Michael was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a person who always lived his life to the fullest. Michael will be dearly missed. In keeping with Michael’s loving and generous spirit he gave the gift of life thru organ donation, so that others may live. Michael is survived by his children, Blair Richard Champagne (Skyler) of St. Martinville, Andrew Guidry (Bailey) of New Iberia, and Landon Guidry of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Michael and Lilly Champagne; his parents, Mr. James Alvin Guidry of Toledo Bend and Mrs. Chris Guidry of Lafayette; his siblings, Christina Landry (Blake) of Youngsville, Rebekah Guidry (Holli) of Carencro, Kimberley Guidry of Natchitoches and Alice Guidry of Atlanta; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Troy Green and Nettie Mae Green; and his paternal grandfather, Jyro Andrew Guidry. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at “CJ Angelle Hall” at 1807 Jefferson Street in Lafayette, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers monetary donations to help defray funeral expenses may be made at the Celebration of Life.
