Lafayette - Marie Cora Lee Howard, age 73, passed away on July 21, 2021 at her residence in Lafayette, Louisiana. Marie was born on May 21, 1948 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a life long resident of Lafayette Parish. She devoted many years of service to our local law enforcement community in the civil department. After retiring, Marie would spend most of her time with family or working in her garden. She created a beautiful flower bed that reflected her beauty, passion and great determination. She did this with her loyal companion Sadie by her side. Marie loved her daughters and her grandchildren with all of her heart. She was a generous and giving person that never hesitated to give anything she had to others. She faced her illness with grace, courage and incredible strength. She woke up each day until her last with the determination that she was going to give and do her best. Her life was a reflection of all of her beauty that she so willingly shared with others. Marie was a person of great faith and often spent time in prayer for those she cared for more than herself. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed more than words can say. Marie was survived by her loving children, Melissa Ann Taylor, Angela Marie Daigle, Michelle Lynn and husband Robert Fritz, and her loyal companion Sadie; her grandchildren, Desiree and Jonathan Hrabik, Joshua and Rachael Taylor, Lindsey Taylor and partner Jason Bargueno, James Daigle, Damian Daigle, Ashley Daigle and her fiancé Scott Gary, Cecil Cormier and his partner Evelyn Tregre, Thomas Mckey, Robert Fritz, Jr. and his partner Franchesca Catalon, Kelly and Stewart Huval, Shelly Menard, Rusty Fritz and his partner Amy Vincent, Tanya and Lonnie Simon, Justin and Pamela Fritz; her great grandchildren, Colton and Paityn Daigle, Dierks and Addison Gary, Noah and Isaac Hrabik, Leo Taylor; her siblings, Lee Roy(Butch) Prejean Jr and Barbara Prejean, Ralph Louis and Linda Prejean, Mary Evelyn(Susie) Prejean Allbright and Charles Allbright, Virgina Prejean Webb and Pete Webb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Evelyn Bourg Prejean and Lee Roy Prejean Sr.; her siblings, Richard Martin(Dickie) Prejean, Charles Wilson Prejean, William John(Billy) Prejean, Douglas Joseph Prejean, Katherine Ann Prejean Richard, Carolyn Martha Prejean; grandchild, infant Cormier; father of her children, James Martin Daigle; second husband, Bobby Lee Howard.
