Lafayette - A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Lyric Cennea Verrett, age 21, who passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Lyric was born on April 9, 2001, in Lafayette, Louisiana she was a lifelong resident of Lafayette Parish. Lyric was an incredibly talented painter and tattoo artist. She had a kind heart and she loved her friends and family dearly. Her spirit will live on through the beautiful artwork she bestowed upon her clients. Unfortunately, Lyric's beautiful life ended too soon because of her struggle with drug addiction. Like many who suffer from this tragic disease, the pain was too much for Lyric to bear, Her art and her soul will forever be in our hearts. Your family and friends love you Lyric, and we will never forget the love and light that you brought into each of our lives. Lyric is survived by her parents, Casey Leleux and her husband Wayne Leleux, and Aaron Verrett and Shannon Denham; her siblings, London Verrett, Sydney Verrett, James Block, Thomas Defalice, and Patrick Leleux; her grandparents, William Miller, Ray, and Corliss Verrett, Tony & Diane Noriega, and Jimmy Leleux, and Juliette Leleux; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Barbara Miller; and her aunt Cennea Guidry.
