Lafayette - Joseph “Juzi” Mangion A Memorial Gathering with be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Joseph Mangion, age 71, who passed away on Sunday, June 28th, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Lafayette, Louisiana. Juzi was born May, 17th 1949 in Valletta, Malta to the late Gerald and Anne Mangion. He was the second of four children. Juzi moved with his family to the United States in 1971 and settled in Lafayette, Louisiana. Over the years, he was employed at several oil field companies but found his home at, Vanoil Completions, as a machinist. Juzi’s smile, personality and sometimes even his temper made everyone smile. His kindness and genuine concern for others was boundless. To know Juzi was to love him. If you knew Juzi you knew his heart. Juzi often took care of family and friends, willing to give the shirt off his back if you needed it. Juzi helped without hesitation or question and his unselfish attitude and compassion will be missed. His interests included; LSU football, Saints football, Futbol, Cooking and his biggest love was fishing! Beyond this he loved being with family and friends making every minute count, especially if it was outdoors or using his hands. He is survived by his loving wife, Maitte Gomez Mangion; his beloved children, Jeremy Mangion, Scotty Mangion, Amanda Mangion and Gerald Mangion; His grandchildren, Nicholas Chase Gatch – Mangion; his grandpups, Khloe and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Mangion and Anne Peplow Mangion. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to NSI home health; Leslie, Ariel, Stacey and Sharon.
