Delcambre - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 11:00 am in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre, LA. for Joseph Dinette, Jr., age 86, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, with his family by his side. Rev. John "Buddy" Breaux will conduct the funeral services. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am in the church. Joseph Dinette Jr. was born on November 18, 1935, in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana and he was a resident of New Iberia. He was hardworking from a very young age. He worked throughout his life as a Shrimper, as well as on drilling rigs in the oilfield. In his spare time, he Volunteered at local hospitals and enjoyed woodworking. Joe loved his life and he lived it to the fullest. He was proud of his grandchildren, and he adored his great-grandchildren. In his later years, he moved to an assisted living facility, and he became close friends with many of the residents, he treated them like his own family. Joe will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, as well as a dear friend to many. He will be deeply missed. Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Wayne Dinette of Pensacola, Florida, and Patricia Ann Dinette of Pensacola, Florida; his grandchildren, Daphne Dubois and her spouse Dillon Dubois of Erath, Heather Dupuis and her spouse Tyler Dupuis of New Iberia, Eric Dinette of Pensacola Florida, Laney Dinette Pensacola Florida, and Dustin Renard and his spouse Paige LaCoste of Abbeville. Kyleigh Choate, Kaleb Segura, Kyler Johnson, Kallyn Dubois, Paislee Dupuis, Tyler Dupuis Jr, Makayla LaCoste, Isabella Renard, and Malakai Renard; his siblings, Genevie Arp, Betty Lou Reyes, Marie Dinette, and Erma Schumaker; as well as his dear friend Dianne Savoy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years and the mother of his children, Mary Dinette; his parents, Joseph Dinette Sr and Alfrida Dinette; his siblings, Roldin Dinette, Daisy Dinette, Cecile Asuncion, Eva Dernell, Nolan Dinette, Betty Jane Lofton, Lulamae Dinette, and Calvin Dinette; as well as his second wife of 7 years Jeanne Breaux Dinette. The Dinette family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to Nurses, Doctors and Staff of Traditions Hospice, especially his nurse Chelsea Freyou, for the care and compassion they provided Joe in his final days. Entombment will take place in the Mausoleum of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in Delcambre.
