Jody P. Langlinais

Abbeville - A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Jody P. Langlinais, age 55, who passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Kaplan. Deacon Bill Vincent of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice. Jody P. Langlinais was born on November 19, 1968, in Lafayette and he was a longtime resident of Vermilion Parish. Jody was a passionate collector and restorer of old vehicles and antiques. He believed that one person's trash is another's treasure. Jody loved his dog Molly. He was a skilled pool player, who made friends easily and enjoyed various activities such as music, crawfish and crab boils, barbecues, and fish fries. Jody enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind and cool guy to be around, and had a strong desire to help those in need always willing to give you the shirt off his back. Jody was highly intelligent and determined to succeed in any challenge he faced. He graduated from North Vermilion High School in 1986. Jody studied photography, psychology, and French at UL. He also attended Universal Technical Institute where he studied Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and received his degrees and certificates. Jody later worked as a building inspector for Lafayette Consolidated Government. He was a sweet and loving guy who loved to have fun and was afraid to grow old. Jody will be dearly missed. Jody P. Langlinais is survived by his son, Seth Broussard (Chasity); his grandchildren, Kali Broussard, Khamryn Broussard, and one on the way, Koreigh-Kate Broussard; his step-daughter, Katelyn Boone; his parents, Alwood Langlinais and Earline Langlinais; as well as his siblings, Celia Langlinais (Ricky Pommier), Mark Langlinais (Barbara), and Chris Langlinais (Sherry Menard). He is preceded in death by his partner, Katie Boone; his maternal grandparents, Orrie“Shine” Webre and Cecile Landry Webre; his paternal grandparents, Andre’ Langlinais and Ophelia Suire; as well as numerous aunt and uncles. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W. Lafayette St., Maurice, LA 70555.
