Ian Joseph Miller

Lafayette - Ian Joseph Miller, age 2, who passed away at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans on April 3, 2023. Ian Joseph Miller was born on December 29, 2020, in Lafayette. He was a kind, sweet, and truly loving little boy even though life dealt him a difficult hand. His smile and laugh lit up a room. I don't think he ever met a single person who didn't fall in love with this sweet little Angel. He spent more time than any child should have to fighting to be in this world. The strength he showed was more than some adults have. Since the day after he was born, he developed a love for tv when he heard SpongeBob come across the television in his mom's recovery room. We as his parents knew there was no keeping that baby from watching or at least listening to his favorite cartoons. He knew what he liked and settled for nothing less. The Cat in The Hat and the first two Cars movies being at the top of his list. He would play and even dance along to his tv when he could. He loved going for walks in his stroller. Especially walks with his dad down to the store listening to music together. Nursery rhymes just weren't for Ian. It was what daddy or momma listened to instead when it wasn't the songs from his shows. He was such an intelligent little boy. Wise beyond his years is the only way I can think to describe this amazing little person. We as his parents know that we were blessed to spend the past two years with Ian. He is a gift sent straight from Heaven into our arms. During just his two short years of life he touched the hearts of so many. To know this child is to love him. Ian is survived by his parents, Bertha Turner and Brian Miller; his older sister Kathrynn Miller and a little sister to be born in August of 2023; as well as his uncles, Aurilie Turner, Lester Turner, and Glenn Miller III. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Barbara Turner and Larris Turner, Sr.; his great-grandmother, Debbie Atzenhoffer; as well as his uncle, Aaron Miller.
