Glenn Trahan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Abbeville - A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Glenn Trahan, age 74, who passed away on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Rev. Cindy Luquette will conduct the Funeral Service. Musical Selections will be provided by John Luquette. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM in the Cypress Chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 4:00 PM during the visitation. Glenn Trahan was born on February 9, 1947 in Abbeville, Louisiana and he was a life long resident of Vermilion Parish. Glenn will be remembered as a loving husband and father. He was married for 39 wonderful years to, Rachel Sirmon Trahan, of Abbeville, Louisiana. Glenn was an avid gardener, and each year he would grow so many vegetables he would end up having to give them away to family and friends. He loved the game of baseball, and he was a great coach for many years to the children of his community. As baseball season came to an end he would take the boys and head off to the woods to fix his deer stands and prepare for hunting season. He enjoyed hunting in Arkansas with Neal and one of his close friends. Regardless of his love for baseball he was finally able to understand the game of soccer with a lot of help from his son Jeremy. Over the years he shared a love with his wife for preparing and providing their locally loved "Kettle Corn" at the Jockey Lot. Glenn enjoyed visiting and talking with everyone who came through, and he became known as "The Popcorn Man". He loved talking and visiting with people so much that often times he would give the "Kettle Corn" away without charging. Glenn had a good life and he was fortunate to have traveled and visited many different countries and places always with his wife by his side. Today although we are sad he has left this earthly place, we rejoice knowing he is up above, pain free and smiling down upon on us with his parents, and his dear loved ones by his side. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Rachel Sirmon Trahan; his sons, Neal Trahan and his wife Adrienne, Matt Daniel Trahan, and Jeremy Ross Trahan; his daughter, Leah Joan Trahan Naquin and her husband Todd; his step son, Ryan Russell Michaud; his grandchildren, Hale Anthony, Dane Mathew, and Madilyn Kate Naquin; his sister, Deanna Trahan Bodin and her husband Keith; his nephews, Chad Bodin and his wife Gretchen, Todd Bodin and his wife Amie; his great nieces and nephews, Jade, Emma, Carter, Amelia, and Everett; his great great niece, Rosemary; his sister in law, Claudia Sirmon (Rick); as well as Keagan Michelle Hooks (John). Glenn is proceeded in death by his parents, Daniel Trahan, and Bernice Neveaux Trahan; his nephew, Daniel Colby Bodin; as well as his dear cousins, Tommy Trahan, Darell Neveaux, and Ronnie Neveaux.
