Gerard "Jude" Dubois Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lafayette - A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette for Gerard “Jude” Dubois, age 65, who passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at The Calcutta House in Lafayette, Louisiana. Reverend Joe Campion, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church will officiate. A Rosary will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 10:30 am at St. Edmond Catholic Church. Gerard “Jude” Dubois was born on May 6, 1957, in Abbeville, LA and he was a lifelong resident of Acadiana. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jude was an educator as well as a supervisor with the Vermilion Parish School Board for nearly 30 years. He was passionate about music, and he loved being a part of "PAPER JAM". Jude was one of the smoothest bass players ever. He also enjoyed photography and playing tennis. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Jude is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cheryl Campbell Dubois; his children, Danielle Dubois Andrus and her husband, Patrick of Lafayette, and Dominique “Nikki” Dubois of Lafayette; his grandsons, Noah Andrus, James Andrus, Samuel Andrus, and John Paul Andrus; as well as his siblings, Dion Dubois of Maurice, and Geralyn Abshire and her husband, Jamie of Maurice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minos Dubois and Marie Lillian Mathew Dubois; his grandson, Matthew Andrus; as well as his siblings, Farrel Dubois, and Evelyn Henry-Romero. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Gerard “Jude” Dubois to Hospice of Acadiana - www.hospiceacadiana.com or to MD Anderson Cancer Center - www.mdanderson.org. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Frederick Hagemeister and his medical staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Mollie Thomas, and Ochsner’s Lafayette General Medical Center. Also, a special thanks to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff of The Calcutta House by Hospice of Acadiana. He will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette, Louisiana. Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W.
