Lafayette - A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM in St. Pius X Catholic Church for Evan Grant Meche, 24, who passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Father James Brady will officiate. Evan was a lifelong native of Lafayette, and so proud to call it home. He was kind with a compassionate heart, always ready and willing to help others. That willingness to help drove him to become an EMT. He had a love for kayak fishing, hanging out with his dog Hendrix, listening to music and playing his guitar. He attended Teurlings Catholic High School and graduated in 2015. Evan is survived by his mother Angela Menard Meche and her fiancé Blake Morvant of Lafayette; his father Troy Meche of Sunset; and his brother, Ian Meche of Lafayette. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Brunetta Meche of Sunset; and his maternal grandfather, Floyd Menard and his wife Jane of Lafayette. He is survived by several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Diane Mathews Menard of Lafayette, who loved Evan dearly. Evan left this life way too soon and will be deeply missed by his family. Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.
