Elodie "Lou" Hebert Broussard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Maurice - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 14, 2022 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice for Elodie "Lou" Hebert Broussard, age 93, who passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at her residence in Maurice, surrounded by her family. Father Mark Hebert, Elodie's great-nephew, will serve as Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. The family requests that visitation be observed at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Cypress Funeral Home. Elodie " Lou" Hebert was born on October 14, 1928, in Kaplan, Louisiana. She was a lifelong resident of Maurice. She and her husband, Fred, opened their business in 1967. Fred's Plumbing and Air Conditioning is now in its third family generation. Her husband, Chief H Fred Broussard, served as the Chief of the Maurice Volunteer Fire Department. Together they were honored to travel around the state attending various functions for the Fire Department. Elodie was also involved in the annual Giant Omelette Celebration in Abbeville, having served as The Grand Chevalier. In her later years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world visiting many wonderful places. More than anything Elodie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives she touched. Elodie is survived by her children, Marlene B. Theriot and her husband Wayne of Maurice, Catherine B. Villien and her husband Carl of Maurice, Margaret B. Vincent of Maurice, and Tim Broussard and his wife Jessica of Maurice; her grandchildren, Carla V. Bellard, Emily T. Broussard, Denise V. Trahan, Nicholas Theriot, Claire V. Hoyt, Brandon Vincent, Justin Theriot, Jeremy Broussard, Ted Villien, Natalie T. Couvillon, Gregory Vincent, and Tabatha B. Trahan; her 27 great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Ethel H. Meaux and her husband Lovelace of Kaplan, and Jean Hebert and his wife Juanita of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, H. Fred Broussard; her parents, Romeal and Louise V. Hebert; as well as her siblings, Alice H. Trahan, Una H. Lemaire, Elix Hebert, Paul "Boone" Hebert, Hilda H. Langlinais, and Percy Hebert. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Theriot, Brandon Vincent, Jeremy Broussard, Gregory Vincent, Ted Villien, and Garland Langlinais. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Theriot. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You to her special caregivers, Janette Jesensky, Sherri Dartez, and her nurse Amy with Hope Hospice.
