Anthony “Silk” Campbell was born October 25 1961, in Fayetteville, NC, to the late Youmeller Campbell and Lillie Davis. Raised in Gary, IN, he attended Marquette Elementary School, Kennedy King Middle School and Wirt High School. From there, he went into Job Corps, attended Indiana University Northwest, and served in both the Army and the Reserves. Always the adventurous spirit, Anthony loved to travel, to cook and play various musical instruments every chance he got. He had an amazing heart for those he loved and felt loyalty towards. Still, he was very much a free spirit with a gypsy -type nature. He just couldn’t stand still for long periods of time. Somewhere within all of this, he finally found his place in travelling magazine sales. For years he was the general manager, which led to the development of his own company. Many of his employees were troubled, and often homeless young adults. As a leader, he found a way to help them find purpose, he gave them a family. He nurtured and instilled in them skills that would carry them into other career paths of their own. Anthony “Silk” Campbell made his transition in the early morning of April 30, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Yolanda Campbell, his daughters, India (Bo) Gordon of Valparaiso, IN, Brooke Campbell of Abbeville, Raquel (Joseph) Stelly, Whitney Stevens, Tramikeiya Maze, JaRhonda Ivey Austin.
