William "Jimmy" Langley

Broussard - A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM, with military honors to follow, in the chapel of Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for William “Jimmy” Langley, age 81, who passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the Calcutta House in Lafayette. Fr. Bill Melancon will be the celebrant of the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM until service time at Cypress Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 noon. William “Jimmy” Langley was born on August 14, 1943 in Lafayette and he was a longtime resident of Broussard. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School and a Navy veteran that proudly served in Vietnam. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and his old cars. He was a member of the Evangeline Antique Automobile club, where he could share a space with others who had his affinity for antique and classic cars. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his family and loved ones. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruby Boudreaux Langley; his children, Chad Langley (Lori) and Renee Nunez (Minos); his grandchildren, Christopher Langley, Ryan Langley, Megan Langley, Seth Nunez, Sean Nunez, and Samuel Nunez; his sister, Linda Langley Bonin (Daniel); his sisters-in-law, Ruth Sanchez and Mary Lynn Langley; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amanda and William Langley; his brother, John Langley; his sisters, Lena Hebert and Lillian Langley; as well as his brother-in-law, Gerald Sanchez. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his heart donor, Robin Lindsey Gates and her precious family, Monique and Eric Terracina; Dr. Britni Hebert, Dr. Akshey Gupta, Dr. Jon Leleux, the heart transplant team at Ochsner in New Orleans, the Fresenius Kidney Care center in Broussard, the staff of the Calcutta House in Lafayette, as well as the countless number of friends and neighbors who have helped along the way; the family appreciates your love, support, and assistance more than words could ever express.
