Henderson - A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Wayne Michael Daigle, age 68, who passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Lafayette. Deacon Keith Duhon of St. Joseph Catholic Church will conduct the services. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice. Wayne Michael Daigle was born on June 30, 1954, in Baton Rouge and was a longtime resident Henderson. He spent most of his life as an 18-wheeler tire mechanic and truck driver at Saia Motor Freight in Broussard. Wayne had great patience and was never in a hurry. He had a talent for painting and woodburning, creating beautiful pieces of art. Wayne loved nature, observing the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. At family gatherings, he enjoyed barbecuing and boiling crawfish for everyone. Wayne was a loving father to his children and a compassionate grandfather, affectionately known as “Poppit”. His loving wife Linda was the world to him. He will be dearly missed. Wayne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda L. Daigle; his children, Pauline Daigle, Zirah Daigle, and Deidra Schexnayder; his grandchildren, Kiaya Daigle, Kadence Hayes, Aedan Daigle, Aamiley Hayes, Rhett Hobbs, and Colton Schexnayder; his step-grandchildren, Jace Hobbs, Cohen Schexnayder, Kathryn Schexnayder, and Christian Schexnayder; his great-grandchildren, Zaynee Daigle; his mother, Rita C. Daigle; as well as his siblings, Kathy Daniels, Gail Savoy, and Malcolm Daigle. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Daigle; his paternal grandparents, Gilbert Daigle and Lucette D. Guidry; as well as his maternal grandparents, Basil Carreca and Julia Carreca. The family wishes to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to Sam Richard for going above and beyond. As well as the doctors, nurses, and staff at The Carpenter House for the care and compassion showed to Wayne during his time of need. Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W.
