Terri Sherrets Trahan

Lafayette - A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Milton Civic Center (100 Civic Ln., Lafayette, LA 70508) for Terri Sherrets Trahan, age 62, who passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 in Lafayette. Terri was a family focused homemaker that loved music, movies, her grandbabies and the Saints. She was born in Gainesville, FL to George and Judy Sherrets. She grew up in High Springs, FL until moving to Lafayette, LA in 1978. In 1979, she married and in 1984 she began her family. She added to the family again in 1985 and 1990. In 1992, Terri again added to her family when she began a new chapter with her life partner, David Castille. David added 3 bonus daughters to the mix, rounding the total to 6 children that Terri lovingly deemed her "sixpack". She was a caring, wonderful mother to her sixpack. Throughout the years, Terri met many friends that became family along the way. She enjoyed going to flea markets, collecting purses, and having her nails done. Terri will be deeply missed by those that loved her. She is survived by her loving partner of 32 years, David Castille; her children, Miranda (Corey) Guidry of Madisonville; Patrick (Dayna) Trahan of Opelousas; Emily (Steven) David of New Iberia; her bonus daughters - Shannon (Joey) Thibodeaux of Duson; Christina (Nelson Bourque) Leger of Duson; and Danielle (Mickie) Hudson of Scott; her grandchildren, Katelyn, Kaylee and Corey Guidry, Gracie, Beau and Tristan Trahan, Rain and Laina Queeman, River Martin, Laiken Belfy, Roman, Darrien, and Carter David, Heaven and Evan Thibodeaux, Dakota Vidrine, Deaven Castille, Zak, Riley, James Jr, and Kolton Hudson, and Maysann; her siblings, Danny (Val) Sherrets of Lafayette and Jennifer (Steven) Herring of Jackson, MS; as well as Jeremy (Courtney) Hopkins, Scott (Kristina Warner) Sherrets, Dustin Sherrets, Zachary Broussard, Jamie and Jessica Lormand, Steffan (Ashley), Jacob, Adam, and Vincent Lanclos, Randall and Leah Breaux, Ashley (Nicholas) McLendon, and Darren (Kearstin Broussard) Castille. She was preceded in death by her parents, George R. Sherrets and Judy L. Walker; her brother, Leslee Scott Sherrets; and her nephews, Hunter Matthieu Broussard and Jeremiah Lormand.
