Youngsville - A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 10:00 am at Southside Park in Lafayette for Sommer Sky Jupiter, age 42, who passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Broussard. Sommer Sky Jupiter was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on June 7, 1980, and she was a longtime resident of Acadiana. Magical, mystical, magnetic, topped with rainbow sprinkles leaving droppings of fairy dust in her path as she walked her journey on Earth. A cosmic colorful rainbow of stars making her own constellation in the hearts of everyone she loved. For those of us who had the privilege of loving her in return, she had many names. KittyPup, Waka Waka, Porkchop Piggy, Glammy, to name a few. The name she was most proud to be called was “Mom”, by her one and only child, Shyla Nekelle. She loved to share the story with everyone of when Shyla was a little girl and said, “Mommy, you are my best friend.” Sky was exactly that, a mother, and a best friend to many. Sky’s time here was short lived but she lived it to the fullest. For us who miss her here know Misty Dawn and Jada Star needed their older sister. This gives us all peace knowing she is with them. We know those 3 are going to shine bright in the night and we will remember them every time we look up at the night sky. We will remember Sommer Sky Jupiter singing: “He's still working on me To make me what I need to be It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars The Sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars How loving and patient He must be 'Cause He's still workin' on me” Final words from us to you Sommer Sky Jupiter: Mom, I love you. The girls love you too. - Shyla Sky, my best friend, thank you. You were to me something I never had, a sister. You gave me something nobody else has, a godchild to call me Nanny. You gave Marlee something I could never give her, an Auntie Sky. And you gave my parents something they never had, another daughter to love just as much as me. We may not have been blood but we are family, a soul tribe. Thank you for the time you gave me and my family. I promise to watch over yours on your behalf until I see you again. I love you to the moon and back for infinity. - Keela Sommer before we became husband and wife, we were best friends. As I type this gathering my thoughts and still trying to process this, the tears are pouring down my face because I know what kind of person you really were. everyone knows how much I loved you, cared for you, and only wanted the best. I never got the chance to tell you I love you one last time and I’m hurt that you died alone, lonely, and heartbroken. I lost my mother and father in the last 4 years now my wife, but your death hurts the worst because it was unexpected. I was prepared for their loss and I was by their side so I had a chance to tell them I love them and kiss them one last time. I did not have the chance with you. I love you always. - Jup Sommer is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Robert Jupiter; her daughter, Shyla Brown (Michael Clarkson) of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Avanie Clarkson, Avaeh Clarkson, and Austyn Clarkson; her mother, Gretel Ann Clark Carvell of Lafayette; along with a host of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dave Carvell; as well as her sisters, Misty Dawn Carvell and Jada Star Carvell Goody. Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W.
