Sherry Hebert Landry

Abbeville - Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville for Sherry Hebert Landry, age 75, who passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Lafayette, LA. Interment will take place at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Maurice immediately following the service. Sherry Hebert Landry was born on August 23, 1949 in Jennings, LA and she was a resident of Abbeville. She attended school at Mt. Carmel High School in Abbeville, LA; Tuscola High School in Tuscola, IL; Ouachita High School in Monroe, LA; and then pursued a degree in education at USL in Lafayette, LA. Sherry was a dedicated educator who devoted 33 years teaching at Abbeville High School. She was very happy to help each and every student. Sherry cherished the time with her family and loved being "Gammie" to her grandchildren. She treasured visiting with family and friends and always had a smile on her face. The word "Goodbye" meant another 30 minutes of conversation to Sherry. She also loved genealogy and loved to share it with everyone. Sherry will be deeply missed by her friends and family, as well as all of those that loved her. Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Clifford "Craig" Landry; her children, James Landry of Kilgore, TX; Jonathan Landry (Hope) of Central, LA; Joshua Landry (Lauren) of Lafayette, LA; and Jacob Landry (Karla) of Metairie, LA; her grandchildren, Luke Landry, Lawson Landry, Laynie Grace Landry, Andrew Landry, Kora Landry, and Kampmann Landry; her parents, Ella Sonnier Hebert and Lovess John Hebert; as well as her siblings, Darrell Hebert (Nanette) of Montgomery, TX; Lola Hebert Latiolais (Tommy) of Abbeville, LA; and Byron Hebert (Ellen) of Katy, TX. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Whitney Hebert and Legena Cormier Hebert; as well as Joachin Sonnier and Olite Benoit Sonnier. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations to the St. Mary Magdalen Ministries Christian Service Center in memory of Sherry. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W. Lafayette St., Maurice, LA 70555.
