Lafayette - On May 21, 2021 was the day God thought there was a soul too beautiful to walk on this earth. So, he brought her battling soul home where her beauty could shine even brighter amongst the rest of his angels. It was then Melanie Renee Guidry passed away to walk through the Kingdom of God. She was a long-time resident of Lafayette, Louisiana where she enjoyed working out either in the gym or running. Melanie had many achievements. She recently graduated from ULL with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology. She was admired by students and faculty for her dedication and intelligence. Her hard work earned her a full scholarship to attend LSU to obtain her master’s degree. She was a guiding light in the fitness and nutrition industry where she worked as a lifestyle coach. Her passion was to inspire others to make healthy choices. Her positive energy was contagious. Her greatest achievement are her 3 children. Each have inherited a bit of her strength, kindness, generosity, genuine spirit and great sense of humor. Left with her memory are her 3 children in which are her eldest son Gage Michael Guidry and his girlfriend, Savannah Batey Thomas, her daughter Jasmine Raquel Guidry, her youngest son Christion Jude Guidry. Her granddaughter Harmony Grace Guidry, Mother Janet Marie Leger and husband David Leger, sister LaToya Lynn Bourliea and husband Kevin, 3 nephews Brennen Shae Bourliea, Ayeden Tia Bourliea and Cullen Rae Bourliea. She is preceded in death by her father Melvin Marion Brown, maternal grandfather Johnny George Phillips, paternal grandparents Nelson and Lucille Brown along with a host of paternal Aunts and Uncles. The family request that visiting hours be observed at Cypress Funeral Home and Crematory in Maurice, LA. on Thursday May 27, 2021 from 2pm until 8pm. There will be also a service held by Barbara Breaux at 5:30 until 6.
