M. Deanna L. Soirez

Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 3:00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath for M. Deanna L. Soirez, age 78, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023, in Abbeville. Reverend Clinton Sensat, Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, from 1:00 pm until the time of service in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Internment will take place in the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery in Erath. Deanna was born on October 15, 1944, in Abbeville and she was a lifelong resident of Erath. Throughout her life she remained faithful to God, as well her Catholic faith. Deanna was a caregiver all of her life; working as a labor and delivery nurse at Abbeville General Hospital, as well as for Dr. Lahasky. She also worked for some time in home health. She really enjoyed taking care of those in need. One of her favorite pastimes was baby sitting her nieces, nephews, and other children. Deanna was also and animal lover, especially cats. She will be dearly missed. Deanna is survived by her brother, Michael Soirez and his wife Nelwyn of Erath; her nieces and nephews, Tracie Renard (Duff), Timmy Romero, Jeremy Soirez (Kayla), Brennan Soirez (Heather), Jenna Gilbert (Guillaume); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jake, Cade, Austin, Cameron, Mason, Jackson, Grant, Logan, Ryder, Ella, Malanie, and Jonah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawless “Pat” Soirez and Verna Dronet Soirez; her sister, Lona Romero; her brother-in-law, Johnny Romero; and her nephew, Brandon Renard. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Soirez, Brennan Soirez, Timmy Romero, Cade Renard, Cameron Soirez, and Michael Soirez. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Soirez, Guillaume Gilbert, and Jake Renard. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Eastridge Nursing & Rehabilitation; as well as Community Hospice for the care and compassion they offered Deanna and her family during her time of need.
