Kenny Lane Romero

New Iberia - Kenny Lane Romero, 61, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 in New Iberia, Louisiana. Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 in Coteau, Louisiana at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 PM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM. Kenny was born on December 19, 1959 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a lifelong of Iberia parish. He was a meticulous carpenter and hard-working man who loved working with his hands. He had numerous projects and hobbies, from hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry and raising quails. He cherished his grandchildren, they referred to him as “Poppy” and brought him great joy. Kenny was loved and will be dearly missed. Kenny is survived by his wife Joan Robichaux of New Iberia; his mother, Lucy Romero Bourque of Coteau; his children, Jeremy Romero (Marsha) of Delcambre, Aaron Duplantis ( Katie) of Parks, Danielle Tassin (Chris) of Coteau, Jeffrey Duplantis (Leah) of Broussard, and Emily Thibodeaux (Joshua) of Parks; his grandchildren, Lanie Romero, Katie Leshare, Mateo Romero, Ashton Romero, Kodi Romero, Isabella Thibodeaux, Wyatt Thibodeaux, Elora Duplantis; his great grandchild, Coby Romero; his siblings, Kathy Borel (Jimmy) of New Iberia, Clarence Rogers of Maurice, Mark Romero of Maurice, Kathy Rogers (Joe) of Maurice, and Sue Morgan (Wesley) of Mississippi; his step mother Margie Romero; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Percy Romero and Paul Bourque; his grandparents, Elise and Lloyd Romero, and Beulah and Clovis Boutte; his uncle Dennis Romero; and his aunt Laura LeBlanc. The family wishes to express a heart felt thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana, and also to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau, for the loving care and compassion they showed Kenny during his deepest time of need. He will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Cemetery in Coteau, Louisiana.
