Kenneth Wayne "Pops" Duhon

Maurice - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, for Kenneth Wayne "Pops" Duhon, age 78, who passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. Reverend Paul Bienvenu will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and officiate the services. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Cypress Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Cypress Funeral Home. Kenneth was born on February 9, 1947, in Vermillion Parish and he was a longtime resident of Maurice, Louisiana. In 2014 he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and moved to Cantonment, Florida, to be near his daughter (Donna), son-in-law (Kelly), as well as his grandkids. It was hard for Kenneth to move because he loved Louisiana and he was so proud of his Cajun heritage. His son-in-law Kelly built him a father-in-law suite (who are we kidding, it was a house) behind his. It took a few years, but he finally said that he felt at home. Kenneth loved Seagram's Seven, Motown, and rice and gravy. He also adored his dog, Dee, who was always by his side and brought him great comfort and joy. Kenneth was a loving and devoted husband for 44 years. He was affectionally known as "Pops" to everyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Donna Marie Crabtree (Duhon) and his son-in-law and best friend, James Kelly Crabtree of Cantonment, FL; his grandchildren, Kelli Christine Thuma (Anthony) of Cantonment, FL; Kasey Christopher Crabtree (Regan) of Pensacola, FL; Jasper Kayne Crabtree of Cantonment, FL; and the bright and shining light of his life, great-grandson, Rainer Nicholas Thuma. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Nell Arceneaux; his father, Adolph Duhon; his mother, Audrey Mae Montagne; his brothers, Sammy Dwayne and Kevin Layne Simon. Pallbearers will be Kasey Crabtree, Jasper Crabtree, Jody Arceneaux, Justin Arceneaux, Kevin Simon, and Doyle Trahan. Entombment will be held in St. Alphonus Catholic Cemetery in Maurice. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Baptist Cancer Institute in Pensacola, Florida, especially Dr. Sherif Ibrahim, for their compassionate care and support throughout Kenneth's treatment.
