Joseph "Kenneth" Jaubert Sr.

Maurice – A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice for Joseph "Kenneth" Jaubert Sr., age 83, who passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at his home in Maurice surrounded by his family. Rev. Brian Harrington will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at St. Alphonusus Catholic Church in Maurice. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM in the Church. Joseph "Kenneth" Jaubert Sr. was born on September 26, 1926, in Opelousas, Louisiana, and he was a long-time resident of Maurice. Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army for seven years. He was a decorated veteran of foreign wars, having served in Vietnam. He received several honors, including the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), the Vietnam Service Medal (VSM), the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (VCM), and the National Defense Service Medal for his active duty during the Vietnam War. Kenneth completed his military service in the US Army at the rank of Sergeant. Upon returning home from his service, he entered the construction industry and eventually became the owner of Oaktree Contractors. He dedicated the remainder of his career to working as a building contractor. Outside of work, Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing whenever possible. Above all, Kenneth was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Christine Ann Romero Jaubert; his children, Paul Jaubert (Lisa) of Opelousas, Charles Jaubert (Mandy) of Broussard, Ashley Richard of Plano Texas, and Kenneth Richard Jr. (Christina) of Maurice; his grandchildren, Drake Jaubert, Brailey Jaubert, Mary Claire Dunaway (Wyatt), Christian Jaubert, Elizabeth Jaubert, Joey Jaubert, and Sheree Jaubert; his great grandchild, Wyatt “Chip” Dunaway; as wella s his sisters, Patricia Wills of Baton Rouge and Mary Ann Turner (Buddy) of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hebert and Marie Joubert; his son, Joseph Kenneth Jaubert Jr.; his brothers, Hebert “Jr.” Joubert, Sidney “Donald” Joubert, and Christopher “Chris” Joubert; his sister, Ruby J. Pellerin; and his brother in law, Karl Wills. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the Nurses and Staff of Hospice of Acadiana, Pallative Care of Acadiana, Right at Home Home Health, and the Veterans Administration for the loving care and compassion that they offered Kenneth during his time of need.
