James F. "Jimmy" Jett IV

Abbeville - A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for James F. “Jimmy” Jett IV, age 48, who passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Deacon Bill Vincent will officiate the funeral services. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM until service time at Cypress Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM. Interment will be held at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville following the services. Jimmy was born on October 14, 1976 in Morgan City and he was a lifelong resident of Abbeville. He lived life with joy, energy, and a love for the simple pleasures that made each day brighter. Jimmy especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, always cherishing the moments that brought everyone together. As a true music lover, he found happiness strumming his guitar, listening to his favorite rock bands, and sharing songs that spoke to his soul. He was also passionate about Harley Davidson motorcycles and the freedom of the open road, where he could embrace adventure and the thrill of the ride. Jimmy’s love for life extended to his many interests: tropical vacations by the water, fishing trips, cheering for his favorite football teams, and watching NASCAR races. He never passed up a good plate of seafood, especially when shared with the people he loved most. Jimmy will be remembered for his easygoing spirit, his love of music and motorcycles, and the way he made every gathering more fun just by being there. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Rachelle Donovan Jett of Abbeville; his parents, Cathy Jett and James F. "Jimmy" Jett III of Abbeville; his children, Lila Jett of Ponchatoula, Taylor Jett (Trynidi) of Abbeville, Alexis Jett of Kaplan, Bree Duhon of Abbeville, and Carlie Duhon of Abbeville; his sister, Kristi Jett Ledet of Abbeville; as well as his granddaughter, Elaina Jett. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Taylor Jett, Steven Boudreaux, Randy Jett, Brady Barras, Toby Primeaux, and Drew Primeaux. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the United States Coast Guard, the Vermilion Parish Sherriff’s Office, as well as the countless people who helped with the search efforts for Jimmy.
